Medical colleges in India will soon have CCTV cameras installed. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued an advisory to all medical colleges for installing CCTV cameras in institute premises.
Prescribing places for camera installation, the medical commission has advised colleges to install a total of 25 CCTV cameras in the campus. As per the NMC advisory, the institutes have been directed to install a total of 5 cameras, the
highest number, in outpatient departments (OPDs) and all 5 lecture theaters.
It further asked the medical colleges to ensure that cameras installed in the OPDs cover the medicine OPD, surgical OPD, Gynaecological OPD, Pediatrics OPD, Ortho OPD.
The NMC also suggested installing CCTV cameras with 4K resolution and “DVR with High Procession Power, with networking for remote accessibility and recommended with 16 channels”.
