Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the need to embrace the strength and talent of the alumni of any college or school, during PMO’s radio show Mann Ki Baat, on Sunday, November 29, 2020.
Modi also requested all to strengthen their bonds with the institutes they studies from and asked the institutes to engage the strength of their alumni in innovations and development to constantly bring better opportunities for the current students.
The PM also expressed that it is vital that not only the urban schools, colleges and universities but even the rural schools must have a strong alumni network.
While talking about the positive contribution that alumni can make for better development of their
educational institute he gave the example of IIT and the relation that all the IITs maintain with their alumni.
PM Modi said, “The IITians have gifted their institutes with Conference centre, Management centre, Incubation centre, and many other facilities.”
Appreciating the effort made by the alumni of IIT Delhi in creating Endowment Fund, he said it is a great idea.
Narendra Modi also said, “Nothing is big or small when it comes to giving back. Many alumni students help their institutes in technology up-gradation, building proper infrastructure, initiating an award or scholarship.”
“These initiatives play a key role in the development of any educational institute,” added Modi.
