“Representations were received from various stakeholders regarding the deletion of some portions in the existing syllabus of Paper 1 (B.E./BTech) as the same were not being taught in their Class 12 board. In view of this, various state boards and CBSE were asked to compare their Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with the existing syllabus of JEE Main. The inputs and the syllabus document available on the website were reviewed by a Committee.
“In the proposed syllabus, no new topic has been added. The potion which is neither being taught anywhere in the school board nor available in the latest book of NCERT, has been deleted. The syllabus has been revised and reduced to focus on core concepts,” a senior NTA official said.
