CUET UG is being held for the first time ever today, on July 15, and almost 15 lakh students have registered to appear for the common university entrance exam through which students will get admission to undergraduate courses in colleges and universities all over India.
CUET UG is being held in two phases and in two slots each day -- 9 am to 12:15 pm and 3 pm to 6:45 pm.
The panic level in students started to rise since the CUET admit cards were issues and students faced a wide range of problems, especially because this is the first time that such a common entrance exam is taking place across India.
When the CUET ‘city intimation slips’ were provided to students, they didn’t have the
exact exam centre but only the city in which the exam centre would be located. The exact exam centre was available on the admit cards which were available for download from the late hours of July 12.
The official website had also noted that the examination city could also be changed in case of a large number of students.
NTA sources have said that students who have faced difficulties due to last-moment changes in exam centre location will be provided a chance to appear during the latter part of the examination, in all likelihood, during the August phase of CUET examinations.
Some students and their parents even had to travel long distances to reach the exam centres in the range of 200 to 300 km.
