The Odisha state government has decided to cut short the summer vacations for the students so as to complete the syllabus on time. The state government took the decision to help students complete their studies on time, which was affected due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
As per the decision by the State School & Mass Education Department, this year, the summer vacation for school students will only be for 10 days, starting from June 6. The schools will reopen from June 17, 2022. Usually, the school vacation is for 50 days.
However, this time it will be for 10 days only.
Currently, the school timings have also been revised. As per information, from May 1 to June 5, the teaching hours will be from 6 am to 9 am. Students of Classes 9 and 10 will have to appear for the practical examination in the new academic session too.
Further, the School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash, has said that 100 percent syllabus will be restored in schools. Earlier, the syllabus was reduced by 30 percent amid the Covid-19 situation.
