The Mizoram government has postponed the opening of schools to conduct the academic session 2020-2021 for an indefinite period. This decision has been taken as a measure to control the excessive spread of Covid-19.
Earlier the government has decided to start schools for the 2020-2021 academic session from July 15, 2020.
"We would not be able to
open schools during this month as the Union Ministry of Home Affairs directed all the states not to open educational and training institutes till July 31 due to the increasing Covid-19 cases in the country," Mizoram education minister Lalchhandama Ralte said on Friday.
“The state government will take a decision on the matter considering the situation,” Ralte said to PTI.
