Osmania University issued a circular prohibiting agitations, dharnas, and demonstrations within its departments, colleges, centers, and administrative buildings.

The decision comes in response to disruptions caused by such activities, which have adversely impacted the smooth functioning of the university, delayed administrative and academic progress, and, on certain occasions, raised security concerns.

The university said a serious view was taken of these incidents and it was decided to strictly prohibit within the campus premises activities such as unauthorised entry (trespassing) into university buildings, staging dharnas, agitations, and demonstrations, and raising slogans that

disrupt administrative or academic activities.

Also prohibited are activities such as preventing university officials from carrying out their duties and using abusive, unparliamentary, or offensive language against university staff and authorities.

The university in a statement said it remains committed to addressing the concerns of its stakeholders through a structured grievance redressal mechanism and students with genuine grievances are encouraged to follow due process by first approaching the relevant institutional authorities.

If further escalation is required, they may seek an appointment with the Registrar or other university officials with prior permission.
