Osmania University has made it to 34th position among the top 75 ranked higher education institutions in the country. The varsity considers this an achievement as there have been 14 new entrants this year.
The 2019 QS India University Rankings was released on October 15, 2018 in Delhi.
Osmania has climbed from 76th position in 2014-15 to 34th. The university has scored maximum points in number of staff with PhDs (university and India median score being 77.5), papers per faculty (university score 6.6
against India median score of 5.8), and international student ratio (university score 8 against India median score of 1.1). Its weaknesses are faculty student ratio, citations per paper, and lack of international faculty.
Prof S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, congratulated all stakeholders for consistent performance and has expressed his concern over institutional weaknesses and plans to take necessary steps to overcome them to ensure better performance in future.
