The Osmania University (OU) is all set to hold its convocation ceremony in November this year after four years gap.
Addressing a media conference on the university campus, S Ramachandram, OU vice-chancellor said the administration is preparing to conduct the convocation ceremony . “The last convocation ceremony was held in 2013 and the days before the bifurcation, the university had turned into a hotbed for protests. Now that the situation is stable, we have decided to hold the convocation ceremony ,“ said Ramachandram.
About 1,600 students will be awarded degrees during the convocation. “It is a challenge to
collect data for so many students. The convocation will be held for all those who graduated between 2013 and 2017. Once we decide the chief guest for the convocation among other things, we shall declare the convocation date,“ said Ramachandram.
“I hope the students who graduated since 2013 will be interested to participate as the ceremony is being conducted during the university's centenary year,“ he added.
Apart from this, the university is also gearing up to conduct the Indian Science Congress in January next year where delegates from across the world are expected to visit the university.
