The department of commerce, Osmania University, is conducting a one-day training programme for teachers in insurance on Tuesday.
The university has introduced four papers in the ensuing academic year — principles of insurance, practice of life insurance, practice of general insurance and regulation of insurance business — for all BCom students between the third and sixth semester. During the programme, which is being conducted in collaboration with Insurance Institute of India, teachers will be trained to
teach the four papers as part of the choice based credit system (CBCS).
“Osmania University entered into an MoU with the Insurance Institute of India. As per the MoU, BCom (CBCS) students who pass the papers in insurance with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and enrol for the licentiate examination, get exemption from writing the papers and will be awarded the certificate by the institute,” read a notice issued by the department of commerce to all the affiliated and constituent colleges.
