During the State Level Implementation Committee meeting on National Education Policy 2020, Haryana's Higher Education Minister, Moolchand Sharma, highlighted the transformative objectives set forth by the new policy, aiming to propel India into a prominent global educational realm.
Minister Sharma emphasised the commitment of Chief Minister Manohar Lal towards realising this vision by 2025, emphasising the pivotal role the policy plays in shaping India's educational landscape for the 21st century.
Haryana's Higher Education Minister acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's instrumental role in shaping the National Education Policy 2020 while commending Chief Minister Manohar Lal's
accelerated agenda to implement the policy by 2025 instead of the previously slated year of 2030.
Sharma emphasised the policy's forward-looking approach, integrating emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence, 3-D machines, data analysis, and biotechnology, amongst others, into graduate education to cultivate adept professionals and enhance youth employability.
"We aspire to exceed a 50 percent gross enrollment ratio of girls in higher education by 2030. Haryana has currently achieved a commendable 32 percent enrollment ratio among girls, positioning itself strongly to achieve the 50 percent milestone well ahead of the 2030 target," said Sharma as reported by a leading news website.
