It was not your usual setting in which the Pariksha Pe Charcha was held this time. It was the prime minister, of course, who was speaking with the students. At this time, you are surrounded by them in a very relaxed environment, and the environment was chosen in a way that the students could freely ask questions that they got answers to directly from the Prime Minister.
This Pariksha Pe Charcha was the eight edition which was moved outdoors to Sunder Nursery in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was surrounded by students in a very relaxed environment.
KEY TO WELLNESS: BALANCED LIVING
There were questions galore from students, but the one that stood out was - what to eat. Students wanted to know from the PM what they can eat and how they can inculcate healthy habits?
PM Modi emphasised the importance of nutrition and healthy habits. He discussed what, when and how to eat, stressing that "the absence of illness does not mean wellness." The PM also spoke about the benefits of ‘Suryasnan’ (sunbathing) and the role of proper sleep in maintaining good health. PM told the students that they can only do their best when they are healthy and that should be their focus.
MOVE BEYOND MARKS, FOCUS ON LEARNING
“Sirf marks se kuch nahin hoga, actual learning honi chahiye”. You need to actually learn things instead of just wanting to get marks.
PM Modi encouraged students to shift their focus from exam scores to actual learning. Using a cricket analogy, he compared students to a batsman who focuses on the next ball rather than the final score. This perspective helps reduce stress and improve concentration.
Observe a pressure cooker, that is how pressure needs to be released- PM to students
Have you seen a pressure cooker?
Have you noticed how steam comes out of a cooker?
This was the analogy given by Prime Minister Modi when he spoke about managing stress.
To help students deal with exam stress, PM Modi introduced the pressure cooker analogy—just as steam needs to be released, students must express their emotions to avoid mental strain. He also stressed the
importance of hobbies and extracurricular activities to maintain mental balance.
PM Modi shared practical tips on managing time, advising students to:
Write down daily tasks and tick them off upon completion
Stay aware of how they use their time
Focus on the present moment rather than worrying about the future.
SELF-MOTIVATION AND LEARNING FROM FAILURE
"You are all my motivators,” don’t just think that I can teach you. Even I learnt from you, in fact, I learnt from every young Indian in the country.
PM urged students to challenge themselves, learn from failures, and set realistic goals. When asked who motivates him, he said one needs to find inspiration in everyday life.
I would have been in the Skill Development Ministry if not in politics - PM to students.
Since this was a place where students were asking Prime Minister freewheeling questions, a student asked prime minister. What would he be doing has he not been the PM of India or had not been in politics.
PM said that he does have a passion beyond politics.
PM revealed that if he weren’t in politics, he would have liked to serve in the Skill Development Ministry. He emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and how skill-building shapes both individuals and the nation’s future.
PM Modi highlighted climate conservation and introduced the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, urging students to plant trees in honor of their mothers. He reinforced that we have two mothers—one who gives us birth and the other, Mother Nature, who sustains us.
Now don't be bossy at home because you have a direct connect with me - PM to Students
In a light-hearted moment, PM Modi jokingly told students not to act bossy at home just because they now have a direct connection with the Prime Minister.
I know that most of you will be very happy when you go back home, and I also know that some of you might even use my name when your parents will scold you next, but don't do that. Just because you know me personally and I know you.
