The Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) appointed Preeti Chandrashekhar as its first woman president. Chandrashekhar has become the 11th president since IAI became a statutory body in 2006. She holds an MPhil in statistics from the University of Delhi and is a certified Pensions
Actuary.
Her extensive background positions helped IAI strengthen its role in emerging fields such as data science, climate finance, and economic forecasting, equipping members to address evolving market demands, an official statement released in this regard said.
