The educational institutes, consisting of schools and colleges, in Pune will remain closed till March 31, 2021, in view of the increase in the Covid-19 cases across the city, said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is also the Guardian Minister of Pune.
Earlier, the authorities in Pune had decided to keep the schools and colleges in the city closed till March 14, but keeping in mind the current Covid-19 pandemic situation in Maharashtra, the closure of schools has been
extended for the time being.
Though the schools and colleges remain closed, the libraries for UPSC and MPSC will remain functional. “MPSC/UPSC coaching centres and libraries will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity”, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao said.
As the schools in Pune remain closed, online classes are being conducted for students of all the classes. The schools in Pune were shut down in March 2020 due to the pandemic and physical classes have been suspended since then.
