Pune schools will be closing tomorrow onwards until February 28 due to the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. All educational institutions including schools and colleges will remain closed until February 28 and online classes will be conducted during this course time.
Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao made an announcement about the closing down of educational institutions during a press conference. He also informed about the night time curfew from 11 pm to 6 am during which the people will only be allowed to travel for essential services.
The Maharashtra State Board Of Secondary And Higher Secondary Education Ajit Pawar had conducted
a meeting to address the Covid-19 situation in the area and to ask the officials to take necessary measures to curb the virus cases.
The schools were reopened in Pune after January ending online classes. The Pune Municipal Corporation had conducted the RT-PCR test of the teachers and school staff days after them joining the school. The educational institutions in the rural parts of the city were reopened in November itself.
Covid-19 cases in Pune have seen a steep rise due to which the state government has revamped the rules for the public. The officials have said that people will have to get the police’s permission to hold any public event.
