Satavahana University to hold convocation on Aug 8

Karimnagar: University authorities, who have been searching for a suitable date for some time, have at last fixed August 8 after meeting the Governor and Chancellor of the University ESL Narasimhan.

Narasimhan has agreed to attend the programme. Though the university was established in 2008, convocation has not been conducted so far.

To organise the first convocation ceremony on a grand scale, authorities are making elaborate arrangements. A convocation committee to look after all arrangements have been set up. RR Agarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, would grace the



occasion as chief guest besides Governor.

The event will take place in 200 acres open place in front of boys hostel. Students will be felicitated by dividing into two categories. Students, who secured the highest marks, will be felicitated with gold medals and certificates.

Students who pursued graduation between 2013 and 2017 and post graduation and other vocational courses from 2010 to 2017 are eligible to attend the convocation. The university has received 600 applications so far for the convocation. July 31 is the last date for students to apply.
