In the wake of the rising water levels of the Yamuna river and the heavy monsoon rains, schools in Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi will remain closed. The Yamuna has crossed the danger mark, leading to flooding and water entering the roads. The situation has prompted the government to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the residents.

Schools in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed on Friday while the government in Delhi has issued a directive to keep all schools, colleges, and universities closed till Sunday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that government employees, except those providing essential services, will work from home.

The Delhi Disaster

Management Authority (DDMA) convened a meeting on Thursday to assess the situation and devise strategies to tackle the rising water levels. In response, 12 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in Delhi to aid in emergency response efforts.

The recent monsoon rains in northern India have caused widespread damage, including waterlogging, road collapses, collapsed homes, and severe traffic congestion. Tragically, more than 100 people have lost their lives due to the devastating effects of the heavy rains.

The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts with various agencies to address the challenges posed by the flooding.
