The Andhra Pradesh government schools are scheduled to resume from September 5, 2020, as decided by the state government. This decision is not yet final. It depends on the situation that prevails when the date approaches.
The education minister informed the reporters on the details on July 21, 2020.
The minister, Adimulapu Suresh said to the media after a review meeting on education convened by the state’s Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He said that the government has set September 5, 2020, as the date to reopen schools in the state for physical
classes. However, the final decision will be taken on the basis of the real-time situation.
This means that the dates are still tentative subject to conditions of the pandemic and the death toll along with cases arising due to it a month later.
He also added that “till the time the schools reopen, dry rations, in lieu of mid-day meals, will be supplied to students at their homes.”
