New Delhi: The schools in national Capital Delhi will remain closed for physical classes till further orders in view of the prevailing air quality situation.
Delhi Government's Directorate of Education in a circular said, the environment department has directed to close all the schools with immediate effect till further orders of the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and adjoining areas and therefore, all government and private schools will remain closed till further orders. It said, online teaching learning activities and the examinations for Board
classes would be conducted as per guidelines issued earlier.
The Delhi government on 13th of this month had announced closure of schools and other educational institutions in view of the deteriorating air quality in Delhi.
Schools had reopened for all classes from 1st November, after nearly 19 months of closure due to COVID-19.
The air quality in Delhi is in very poor category. According to Central Pollution Control Board, the Air Quality Index was recorded 316 at 7 AM today.
