As many as 5.56 lakh students will appear for SSC exam in Telangana to be held from March 21 to April 9 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. Students will not be permitted into the examination centres after 9.35 p.m., according to Director of Government Exams R. Surender Reddy.
He said students would, however, be allowed to the centres from 8.30 a.m.. They would have to come in plain clothes as school uniforms were not allowed.
On orders of
the High Court, Mr. Reddy said, closed circuit cameras would be installed at one centre in each district on an experimental basis to check malpractice. Spot valuation of answer sheets would commence on April 11 and results declared within seven weeks of completion of the exam. Of the 5.56 lakh students to appear, 5.21 lakh students were regular candidates and 35,000 failed candidates. About 5.13 lakh students took the exam last year, he said.
