The State government has affected a hike of five per cent on tuition fee for management quota (B Category) MBBS and dental seats in all private non-minority medical and dental professional colleges on Thursday. The tuition fee for students applying for MBBS and dental seats in the A category (50 per cent of seats), which last year was Rs 60,000, has been left unchanged. The tuition fee for B category (35 per cent), which till last year was Rs 11 lakh will now be close to Rs 11.55 lakh.
Private medical and dental colleges can
now set tuition fee upto maximum of two times the tuition fee of B category for the rest of the seats in C category. The authorities have decided to retain existing last year’s tuition fee in all the categories for MBBS and dental courses in private minority colleges. For A category seats (50 per cent), the tuition fee will be Rs 60,000 and for B Category seats (35 per cent), the tuition fee is Rs 11 lakh. For the C category, colleges can set tuition fee upto maximum of two times the tuition fee of B category.
