Six days after handing over appointment letters to candidates selected for teacher jobs via the district selection committee (DSC) 2024, the Congress government deferred the counselling for postings scheduled for Tuesday across the State.

While the School Education Department officials have not cited reasons for postponement, it is said that counselling was put off over non-receipt of information related to selected candidates from all districts.

As many as 10,006 candidates were issued appointment letters by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy amidst fanfare at LB Stadium here on October

9.

According to officials, the counselling has been temporarily put on hold and a new schedule would be shortly announced. In a message circulated to district educational officers, which has been widely shared by teachers, the department said the postings of DSC 2024 appointees are temporarily kept on hold till evening and asked the DEOs to wait for further instructions.

“We will take the attendance of the reported new teachers and send them off by telling them that a message will be given to them separately with the time of counselling for postings,” it added.
