Telangana government to fill 18,197 vacancies in police, prisons and fire services department

The TRS government on Thursday issued job notifications for filling 18,197 vacancies in police, prisons and fire services department.

The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board has issued separate notifications for recruitment of subinspectors, deputy jailors, station fire officers and constables in the department. Of them, 16,925 for stipendary police constable, around 1,000 posts for sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors. In the sub-inspector posts, 710 would be for civil wing (basically law and order and traffic wings) of the police department, about 400 in armed reserve, city armed police and battalions, 19 in the state disaster response and fire services department, 15



deputy jailor posts in the prions department would be filled in the recruitment drive. 

The police recruitment board has decided to fill up some vacancies in the cadre of sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector too in the IT wing of the police department in view of more emphasis in use of technology in the department both for administration purpose and detection of crime. 

Twentynine sub-inspectors in IT wing and another 26 assistant SIs in fingerprint bureau would be recruited.

The recruitment board said applications process would begin on June 6, while the last date will be June 30.
