Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy said Andhra Pradesh police officials working in Telangana would be relieved in a phased manner and not a single police officer from Andhra Pradesh would be permitted to work in the State.
After bifurcation, about 10,315 employees in the police department had been allotted to Andhra Pradesh. So far, 431 personnel working in different cadres have been relieved from Telangana, said Mr. Reddy during question hour in the Legislative Assembly here on Thursday.Giving details, the Home Minister said police personnel who are allotted to AP would be relieved in a phased manner in consultation with the AP
Government.
The Telangana Government is recruiting over 9,000 constables and Sub-Inspectors and the recruitment was in final stage. Once these personnel join the department, the AP employees would be relieved in a phased manner, he said.“If all are relieved at one go, it will create acute shortage of manpower and this could cast an impact on the law and order deployment,” said Mr. Reddy.
The Minister said the AP employees were relieved from Telangana as per Kamalnathan Committee orders. “All measures would be taken to ensure that not a single police official from AP works in the State,” asserted Mr. Reddy.
