Hyderabad: The State government has decided to carry out recruitment to about 550 posts in the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments through the Telangana Public Service Commission. To begin with, the Commission would recruit about 418 assistant executive engineers and 125 assistant engineers in the department, both for the civil engineering section of the department. The recruitment has been necessitated due to the works going on under the Water Grid Scheme and related works. The State government has released a GO in this regard as per the proposals made by Panchayat Raj Ministry. The State Public Service Commission would release a notification on its website after finalising the selection procedure and scheme of syllabus, pending clearance from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. TSPSC officials have informed that very soon other notifications would also be released. They informed that recruitment for the posts of



civil engineers would be carried out in a fair manner as per the instructions of the government and necessary arrangements for releasing the notification have been completed. Recruitment for the posts of assistant executive engineers would be based on a 450 marks written test with interview and for the assistant engineers only written test would be conducted. 

However, the age relaxation and other matters are yet to be finalised by the State government. Currently a person can be recruited to the State government services up to the age of 34. But, the Chief Minister has assured in a debate during Assembly session to extend it by 10 more years. If that happens, candidates of 44 years of age can also be recruited.

In Andhra Pradesh, the government has given six years of age relaxation for government services and people up to 40 years can be recruited in the services
