The State government has decided to sponsor 100 minority students to reputed coaching institutions for Civil Service Examinations coaching.
In view of meager representation of minorities in All India Services and other government sectors the Minority and Welfare Department of Telangana has introduced a novel scheme to provide free coaching for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
For the 2018 examination the department has shortlisted 100 merit candidates and sponsoring the coaching said Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali.
He further said that besides giving free coaching to minority students the government is also providing Rs 5,000
incentives for the rural students and Rs 2,500 for the urban students. He also declared that the government is also mulling to provide free hostel facility for the Muslim students who are availing the free coaching.
A search committee was constituted by the government to identify and shortlist five best coaching institutions in Hyderabad based on proven track record, infrastructure, faculty and other elements. The selected candidates were given the option to choose the institute of their choice and accordingly the candidates are allotted to the institutions for Prelims cum Mains examination coaching said S A Shukoor Director Centre for Educational Development of Minorities.
