Although uncertainty persists about how long the Covid-19 pandemic will remain a threat, officials said the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS Eamcet) will be done in 2021, although it is slightly later than usual.
The Eamcet is likely to be held in June, which is at least a month later than usual – the first week of May. The 2020 edition of the test was delayed by four months due to the pandemic, and the test was held in September.
The dates for taking the admission tests for the engineering, agricultural and medical streams will be completed by the authorities, depending on the schedule of the Intermediate Public Examination, 2021. A schedule is expected to be issued in January.
“The TS Eamcet 2021 schedule depends on the Inter-examinations for which the dates have yet to be announced by the Council for Intermediate Education. What we do know is that it can be delayed and will probably be done in June, “said a senior official.
The authorities have ruled out the
TS Eamcet being conducted in several sessions on the line of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which the Union Government decided in four sessions in February, March, April and May 2021.
“We are unable to run the TS Eamcet in multiple sessions because it involves a lot of logistical and date issues with service providers,” the official said.
The TS Eamcet 2021 Schedule will be followed by other admissions tests, including the General Admissions Test for Engineering, the Integrated Joint Admissions Test, the Postgraduate Engineering General Admissions Test, the Joint Admissions Test for Education, the Legal Examination, general access test for physical education.
This year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Eamcet 2020 that was to be held in May, was done in September. A total of 1 433 266 candidates registered for the engineering stream, of which 1 19 183 appeared and 89 734 qualified.
