In an interesting development, more girls than boys qualified in the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TS EAPCET) 2024.
But, boys secured majority of the top 10 ranks in the results announced here on Saturday. Girls recorded a qualifying percentage of 90.18 out of 66,969 who attended the A&P stream, while boys got 88.25 per cent out of 24,664 who took the test.
Similarly, 97,902 girls appeared and 75.85 per cent qualified in engineering stream as against 74.38 qualifying percentage of 1,42,716 boys who appeared for the test.
Among the top 10 ranks, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh students shared five ranks each in both engineering and A&P streams. AP students topped the EAPCET with Sativada Jyothiraditya of Srikakulam and Aloor Praneetha of Madanapalli securing the first rank in the engineering and A&P streams respectively.

respectively.
Interestingly, only one girl Dhanukonda Srinidhi of Vizianagaram, AP, figured in the top 10 ranks securing 10th rank in engineering stream, while three girls were among top 10 rankers in the A&P stream.
This year, 2,40,618 students appeared for the engineering test conducted from May 9 to 11 and 74.98 per cent qualified. As for the A&P stream held on May 7 and 8, 91,633 candidates took the test and 89.66 per cent qualified.
The qualifying percentage has come down from 80.33 in 2023 to 74.98 this year. But, it increased from 86.31 per cent to 89.66 in the A&P stream.
Releasing the results at JNTU-Hyderabad, Principal Secretary to Government (Education) Burra Venkatesham said the government would shortly announce the admission counselling schedule and academic calendar.
The process of granting affiliation to private engineering colleges was under way and would be completed before the web counselling, he said, adding that enough seats were available in the engineering programmes.
