Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna has said that they would recruit over 1,301 forest beat officers by issuing a recruitment notification within a week through TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission). The Minister said that they aim to strengthen the Forest Department by issuing a massive recruitment notification.
Mr. Ramanna said that they aim to plant over 230 crore saplings across Telangana. Stating that the State has set an example for the rest of India in improving the green cover, the Minister observed that Haritha Haram, the brainchild of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, will benefit the coming generations greatly as they would face no environment related
issues. Inspired by the work of Telangana government, Ramanna said that former Union Minister for Environment and Forest and current HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has highlighted the Telanganaku Haritha Haram at national and international platforms.
He further observed that no State in the country has ever planted such gigantic number of saplings in the history of India as only a couple of countries have taken up such a large-scale plantation drive in the history of human kind. Stating that they have completed planting about 13 crore saplings as on Wednesday, Ramanna said that they aim to plant over 50 crore saplings this year.
