University Grants Commission has taken decision on a regulation for academic collaboration between Indian and foreign higher educational institutions to offer training, joint and dual degree programmes. This was announced by UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar in a virtual meeting with the media yesterday.
The UGC Chairman said, this regulation deals with three different kinds of programmes such as training, joint and dual degree. He said, these kinds of training arrangements between Indian and Foreign higher educational institutions will provide a great opportunity to Indian students.

said, Indian and Foreign higher educational institutions need to sign an MoU to establish collaboration for joint and dual degree programmes.
In the case of joint degree programmes, degree will be provided by the Indian higher educational institute, however, degree can be provided by both Indian and Foreign educational institutions in the case of dual degree programme.
Prof. Kumar said, these steps will benefit the Indian students and fulfill the vision of National Education Policy in providing quality education to the students.
