University of Calcutta includes 3rd Gender option in its admission forms

The University of Calcutta has included the Third Gender option in its admission forms from the next academic session. Giving this information, the Vice-Chancellor Mrs. Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee said yesterday that along with male and female, the admission forms for post-graduate and under-graduate courses



will now have the option of the Third Gender.

The decision has been taken following directives from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the inclusion of Trans-gender as Third Gender in various scholarships and fellowships.
