The All India Council for Technical Education (ACITE) chairman Prof. TG Sitharam on Tuesday urged students to be job creators than job seekers.

Participating in the XXIV convocation of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) organised here, Prof. Sitharam emphasized the importance of up-skilling in today’s rapidly evolving world, particularly in the face of advancing technologies like AI, generative AI, technological advancements etc.

Addressing the graduating students, Telangana Governor, Jishnu Dev Varma, who is also UoH Chief Rector, emphasized the balance between academic excellence and social responsibility.

UoH Chancellor Justice L Narasimha Reddy urged the



graduating students to embrace entrepreneurship and contribute to India’s growing global influence. He stressed the importance of curiosity, continuous learning, and fostering inclusivity, aligning with the university’s core mission.

UoH Vice Chancellor Prof. BJ Rao announced the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for postgraduate students starting 2024 whereas for undergraduate students it was implemented from 2022.

A total of 1,746 students, including 236 PhD scholars, were awarded degrees. As many as 164 gold medals were presented to students for academic excellence besides five faculty members received Chancellor’s Award for their contributions to teaching and research.
