The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has retained its position in the QS World University Rankings 2022 released on Tuesday.

According to the latest QS report, the UoH continues to rank among the World’s Top Universities in the range of 651-700. The QS has categorized UoH as an ‘established medium-sized public university with high research intensity and comprehensive subject focus’, the university said.

Overall, in 2022 edition, the UoH performed among the top 50 per cent in the QS World University Rankings. At 305th rank globally, the citations per faculty were the strongest indicator for UoH, it said adding that in citations per faculty, UoH has scored 46.1 out of 100 points, whereas the global median was 39.2, indicating the widespread reach and impact of its published



work.

Six indicators determined the institutions’ rankings – academic reputation (40 per cent), employer reputation (10 per cent), faculty-student ratio (20 per cent), citations per faculty (20 per cent), the proportion of international students (5 per cent) and the proportion of international faculty (5 per cent).

UoH, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Arun Agarwal said, “UoH has again been ranked among the top global universities which is a good indicator of its sustained performance. However, we have slid down in some parameters that have affected the overall ranking and we will discuss and take measures to strengthen those areas. We need to perform much better in all key areas of teaching and research to be among the top 200 in the world.”
