In response to the prevailing weather conditions characterised by thick fog and decreased visibility, schools in Mathura and Ghaziabad districts have revised their operating hours. The new schedule, starting at 10 am and concluding at 3 pm, aims to address the safety concerns of students amidst the challenging cold wave.

Recognising the severity of the weather conditions, the state government has announced specific holidays for select schools.

In Aligarh, educational institutions spanning all boards from Class 1 to 12, including those affiliated with Aligarh Muslim

University, will remain closed on December 29, 2023, and December 30, 2023.

Similarly, schools in Jalaun will suspend classes for students in grades 1 to 8 until December 31, 2023, ensuring the well-being of young learners.

District Education Officers have issued orders to adjust school timings in response to the weather conditions. Students in classes 1 to 8 in Ghaziabad and Mathura districts will now begin their school day at 10 am and conclude at 3 pm. This move emphasises the collective effort to navigate the challenges posed by the prevailing weather conditions.
