Aamir, others pay last respects to Rani's father Ram Mukherjee at funeral

Rani Mukerji's father, film producer-director Ram Mukherjee passed away on Sunday and several Bollywood celebrities were spotted at his funeral held in Mumbai on the same day.

Rani acknowledges the media and other well-wishers gathered at the crematorium. Rani's father had been unwell for some time and was admitted to a hospital when his blood pressure dropped drastically. He later passed away.

 

Rani was launched in the film industry by her father in her directorial 'Biyer Phool', a Bengali film. He also produced her first Hindi film



'Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat'. He was one of the founding members of the Filmalaya Studios in Mumbai.

Rani's role in Aamir Khan starrer 'Ghulam' had brought her into the spotlight. They went on to work in 'Mangal Pandey - The Rising' and 'Talaash' later on.

 

Ashutosh Gowariker arrived for the last rites with his wife Sunita. The filmmaker had last directed the Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Mohenjo Daro.'

 Anil Kapoor was also spotted arriving for the last rites. He has worked with Rani in films like 'Nayak: The Real Hero.'
