'Blackstar', the last album of late rock icon David Bowie -- who enjoyed little recognition at the Grammys over his long career -- scooped up four early awards Sunday.
Bowie, always more recognized in his native Britain than in his adopted home the United States, won in three of the four categories for which
he was individually nominated, with Best Rock Song yet to be announced.
The victories came for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance and best engineering on a non-classical album.
'Blackstar' also won Best Recording Package, for which artist Jonathan Barnbrook but not Bowie was nominated.
