The Ministry of Jal Shakti recognised Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao’s efforts to conserve water through their NGO, Paani Foundation. The Ministry took to Twitter to laud Aamir and Kiran's successful efforts.
Thanking the Ministry for their encouraging words, Aamir Khan wrote, "Kiran and I would like to thank the Ministry of Jal Shakti, on behalf of every member of Paani Foundation, for acknowledging our efforts. Thank you for highlighting this people's movement against drought in Maharashtra. The Ministry applauded Aamir and Kiran and wrote, "Today we celebrate Paani Foundation, founded by renowned actor Sh. Amir Khan and his wife Smt. Kiran Rao. This NGO has been transforming regions of Maharashtra from drought to prosperity. 'Satyamev Jayate Water Cup' was an applauding initiative by the NGO. #CelebratingNGO”
Aamir Khan is doing his bit to make Maharashtra drought free with Paani Foundation. It was set up by the core team of Aamir's TV show Satyamev Jayate to help deal with the drought issue in the state. The foundation works towards water conservation and watershed management across the villages in Maharashtra.
