For a long time, the biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC has been in the pipeline. To be directed by none other than Sriram Raghavan, who has earlier directed Andhadhun, the film titled Ikkis was to mark a reunion with his Badlapur hero, Varun Dhawan. However, now it has been confirmed that Varun is no longer a part of the project, and his gain seems to be Agastya Nanda’s gain.
Agastya Nanda, who is Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson and Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s son, is all set to make his big screen debut with Ikkis. Helmed by Sriram Raghavan, the film is based on the life of war hero, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC, who is also the
youngest recipient of the prestigious Param Veer Chakra. He was martyred during the Indo-Pak war of 1971, when he was just 21 years old.
Not just Nanda, but Dharmendra will also be a part of the cast. In fact, the announcement was made on November 8, 2022 when the senior actor is celebrating his 87th birthday. Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films will be producing the film.
Earlier, Varun Dhawan was supposed to play the war hero in the biopic. The film was announced in 2019, and the film was to go on floors in 2020 but was delayed because of the pandemic. It was earlier in 2022 that reports of Varun opting out of the film started doing the rounds.
