Ajay Devgan announces playing the lead in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Kaithi

Recently, it was announced that last year's Tamil blockbuster Kaithi will be remade in Hindi. This led to various reports claiming that Salman Khan or Hrithik Roshan are being considered to play actor Karthi's role in the Bollywood remake. However, according to sources, Tanhaji actor Ajay Devgn has been considered to play the role and reportedly he has also shown interest in the film.

The actor has now confirmed that he is indeed in the film. He took to social media to



confirm the news.

In his tweet, Ajay Devgn wrote, "Yes, I’m doing the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. Releases on February 12, 2021."

Film producer SR Prabhu also confirmed the development as he tweeted, We are thrilled to announce that @ajaydevgn will be playing the lead in @RelianceEnt @DreamWarriorPic and @ADFFilms Hindi remake of #Kaithi. 

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Kaithi is an action-thriller released in 2019.
