Mumbai: At a meet-and-greet with fans in Mumbai for the promotion of his upcoming film "Selfiee," actor Akshay Kumar broke a Guinness World Record for the most self-portrait photographs (selfies) taken in three minutes.
With 184 selfies, the superstar holds the title.
On January 22, 2018, Akshay Kumar beat James Smith (USA)'s previous world record of 168 self-portrait photos (selfies) taken in three minutes aboard the Carnival Dream cruise ship. Prior to this, in 2015, Hollywood actor and global icon Dwayne Johnson set the record by taking 105
self-portrait shots (also known as selfies) in just three minutes at the London premiere of San Andreas.
He stated: I am overjoyed to have set a new World Record and to be able to share this experience with my fans! The unwavering love and support of my fans worldwide is the reason for everything I've accomplished so far and where I am now in my life.
"This was my way of paying them special homage and acknowledging how they have supported me and my work throughout my career," I said.
The debut of "Selfiee" is scheduled for February 24.
