Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi has been postponed yet again. The film, which was slated to release on April 30, has been postponed due to a rise in coronavirus cases in the country.
The film’s team released an official statement and announced the same. Director Rohit Shetty informed his decision to postpone the film to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in a virtual meeting held on April 4.
The statement read as, “The Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav
Thackeray had a discussion with director Rohit Shetty yesterday. In the meeting, Uddhav Thackeray appreciated Rohit Shetty as he took the brave and difficult decision of postponing Sooryavanshi owing to the current Covid situation in the state.”
Sooryavanshi was supposed to release on April 30, which was a year later than the original release date on March 24, 2020. The film was delayed for the first time because of the nationwide lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
