Akshay Kumar recently took to social media and uploaded a picture of himself cleaning the beach as a part of the cleanliness drive being carried out to celebrate the eve of Gandhi Jayanti on October 1. Rajinikanth also took this opportunity and asked everyone to be a part of this campaign.
In a recent episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed for "one hour of shramdaan for swachhata" on October 1 by all citizens and said it would be a "Swachhanjali" to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary on October 1. Celebrities such as Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth took part in this drive and shared important messages regarding cleaning the environment and keeping the country
clean.
In the picture posted by Akshay, he can be seen holding a broom and collecting all the garbage that was lying on the beach. Along with the image, Akshay wrote, "Cleanliness is not just about physical spaces, it is a state of mind. Being out of the country couldn’t stop me from paying a tribute to Swachhata Abhiyan. So I would say wherever you are, do your bit to keep your space, and mind, clutter free. #SwachhataHiSeva (sic)."
Veteran actor Rajinikanth also took to X (previously known as Twitter) so as to encourage everyone to strive for a cleaner and better India. The 'Jailer' actor wrote, " A healthy environment begins with a clean environment..Let’s keep India clean (sic)."
