Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is all set to make his debut in the Marathi film industry. One of the busiest actors of B-Town, Akshay, will be seen in the Marathi film, Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat. The film is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Vaseem Qureshi. In the Mahesh Manjrekar film, Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. At the Muhurat ceremony of the film, Akshay spoke about playing such an important part in the film.
At the Muhurat ceremony of Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat, Akshay said, "It's a dream come true role for me. I think to portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen is a very huge responsibility. I was taken aback when Raj sir
asked me to portray this role. I feel so good to be playing this part and it's going to be a dream come true role for me. Also, I will be working for the first time with Director Mahesh Manjrekar, and it is going to be an experience."
On the other hand, director Mahesh Manjrekar said he feels Akshay is perfect for the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. "Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat is my dream project. I have been working on it for the past 7 years, it is a subject that needed that much attention and research. It is by far the biggest and grandest Marathi film to be made and with its release India-wide, I want people to know the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the most powerful Hindu King," he added.
