Singer and television actor Amit Tandon has spoken about his wedding, divorce and remarriage with wife Ruby in a recent interview. Not only did he share how they started talking about getting married, but he also admitted to cheating on his wife, which eventually led to their divorce. However, despite moving on, they got back together and renewed their vows last year.
Recalling how he met his wife Ruby, he shared that it started online through a social networking site, and they got married when he was 27 years old. In the interview, he admitted that he was probably not ready to get married. "I am in love with the idea of being loved," he shared.
He also shared that his first girlfriend, Monica, had passed away tragically, and it sort of brought out the beast inside him. "I felt like it was just hopping (from one girl to another). Maybe (I was looking for her). Then it got to a point where the moment that butterflies of being with someone ended, I would be like 'bye, see you'. Then I realised that I was affecting the people who were trying to be in a relationship with me."
Revealing why he decided to marry, Amit Tandon said, "There was family pressure, and if you make a typical framework, (she was) a doctor, pretty, so I was like let's get married. But I lacked the maturity to be able to manage it, so a lot of things happened."
Tandon then revealed,
"Issues started to crop up. One thing that affected us was the fact that our families were not with us. They act like a buffer. And we were both hot-headed. So issues started growing, and it so happened that the previous chapter of my life started coming back - I don't know what to call it - wandering high. When it came back, I realised there was a problem. I was getting back into it, and it was not like I wanted to do it. I realised this was an issue."
When the host directly asked if he cheated on his wife, Tandon admitted, "I did. I have had moments when I let my impulses get the better of me. For some time, she did not even know, but when she got to know about it, it destroyed her. For a woman, especially a woman who has left her whole family to come be with you, a crack comes between you and sometimes, it does not get repaired. It just gets bigger."
"We filed for divorce in 2017 when things got out of hand for the two of us. But, like I said, there is a higher power up there. We both moved on. I had gotten into another relationship as well. But I feel like this was god's plan that things had to come back and, by God's grace, this time when we got together, it was completely different. Last year, we renewed our vows as well,'' Amit Tandon added.
Ruby had earlier shared photos from their wedding that happened last year. She is a dermatologist and has a celebrity clientele.
