India lost both openers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma cheaply after Pakistan captain Babar Azam opted to field in the high-octane clash between the arch-rivals in New York on Sunday, June 9. Kohli was



dismissed for just 4 runs in three balls by Naseem Shah during India's first innings against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 Group A clash.

This marks only the second instance of Kohli being dismissed by Pakistan in T20 World Cups. The previous occasion was in 2021 when he scored a determined 57 off 49 balls. Despite today’s setback, Kohli continues to be the highest run-scorer in India vs. Pakistan T20 World Cup encounters, with a total of 312 runs across six innings.
