Music maestro and Academy Award-winner, AR Rahman, has been roped in to compose the music for Pippa, a war-drama helmed by Raja Krishna Menon. The film stars Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli in lead roles.
Pippa stars Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli in key roles. The war drama is based on war veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta's book, titled The Burning Chaffees. Brigadier Mehta of the 45th Cavalry Tank Squadron had fought on the eastern front during the India-Pakistan battle of 1971.
The film will reportedly see Ishaan Khatter play the role of the decorated Brigadier. The
title of the project has been taken from the Russian amphibious war tank called the PT-76, also popularly known as Pippa.
The official Twitter handle of Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies shared the news with the fans of the musician. They wrote, "Delighted to have the Oscar winning Maestro @arrahman scoring the music for #Pippa (sic)."
AR Rahman confessed that he was happy to be coming on board for Pippa. The maestro said, "The story of Pippa has a very human connect. It's about every film, and I instantly related to it. I am looking forward to working with Raja Krishna Menon, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddhartha Roy Kapur."
