Mumbai Police on Wednesday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a drone camera operator for recording Bigg Boss 17 victory celebration of Munawar Faruqui in Dongri area.
After winning Big Boss 17, Munawar Faruqui, a stand-up comedian, visited Mumbai's Dongri, where a sea of fans gathered to welcome him.
Various pictures and videos of his grand welcome and victory celebrations from Dongri were doing rounds on social media. In the viral videos, including those taken from drones, showed Munawar Faruqui standing on the sunroof of his car as he lifted his coveted Bigg Boss 17 trophy.
Upon investigation, the police observed a person using a drone camera to capture the celebration. Identified as Arbaaz Yusuf Khan (26), the drone operator was
approached by police officers present at the scene.
Cops enquired about the proper authorisation for drone usage, to which Khan admitted that he did not have the required permission. Subsequently, the police confiscated Khan's drone camera and subsequently registered an FIR against him.
Flying objects, including drones, without permission, are restricted for security reasons in Mumbai.
Munawar emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 17, enduring a continuous 15-week stay inside the BB House. His triumph earned him not only the coveted trophy but also a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and a brand-new Hyundai Creta.
The final showdown featured Munawar alongside four other finalists, namely Abhishek Kumar, Mannara Chopra, Arun Mashettey, and Ankita Lokhande.
