The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) carried out a raid at producer Firoz Nadiadwala's house today morning. The officials recovered ganja from the producer's house. The producer was not present at home during the raid. His wife Shabana Saeed was taken to the NCB office for questioning.
During the search carried out at Firoz Nadiadwala's house, NCB recovered 10 gm of ganja (cannabis). This was procured from Wahid Abdul Kadir Sheikh aka Sultan, a drug peddler, who was arrested by NCB on November 6. Shabana was taken to the NCB office where she recorded her statement and was later arrested by the officials. NCB carried out a search
operation at Firoz Nadiadwala's house after the producer's name came up in interrogation of some of the detained suspects.
Including Shabana Saeed, the NCB has arrested five people in the drug probe. On Saturday evening, the NCB officials conducted four raids in different parts of Mumbai and recovered marijuana and MD in commercial quantity. In relation to the raids, four people who were detained and questioned by the NCB have been arrested.
Firoz Nadiadwala has produced films like Phir Hera Pheri, Awara Pagal Deewana and Welcome, among others. The NCB has also summoned the producer for questioning tomorrow.
