Composer DSP wants Janhvi Kapoor to feature in Pushpa 3's item song

Ace music composer Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as Rockstar DSP, recently shared insights about the success of item songs in the Pushpa franchise. During a conversation with India Today Digital, DSP also spoke about who might possibly feature in Pushpa 3's item song.

Talking about the blockbuster item number in Pushpa: The Rule, Kissik, DSP said, “We knew right from the start that whichever actress performed the item song would become internationally or nationally popular. I strongly voted for Sreeleela because she’s an amazing dancer, and it felt like the right choice creatively."

The musician also took pride in the fact that many top heroines debuted their special songs through his compositions, “All the top heroines, whenever they’ve done a special song for the first time, it has been mine. For instance, Pooja Hegde in Jigelu Rani, Samantha in Oo Antava, then Sreeleela in Kissik, and Kajal Aggarwal in Pakka Local. These actresses were at the top of their game, and their debut item songs were with me. It’s



something I cherish.”

With Pushpa 3 already in development, speculation is rife about who could feature in the film’s next big item number. While DSP clarified that the final decision rests with the director, he hinted at a few names. “It all depends on the song and what it demands. But I love working with exceptional dancers. Sai Pallavi is one such performer—I’m a huge fan of her dancing. From Bollywood, I think Janhvi Kapoor is an amazing dancer with great swag. I have seen few of her songs, she has got Sridevi mam's swag. Ultimately, it’s about finding the perfect fit for the song.”

DSP also highlighted the role of dance in elevating the charm of a song, “For me, anyone who dances really well brings a special energy to the track. That’s what makes these songs stand out.”

As fans eagerly await the next installment of the Pushpa franchise, DSP’s comments have added to the excitement, sparking speculation about which star could light up the screen with the film’s next electrifying track.
