Television actor Sheezan Khan, arrested on charges of abetting the suicide of co-actor Tunisha Sharma last year, will walk out of jail after 69 days on Sunday. Sheezan was granted bail by a court in Maharashtra's Palghar district today.

Tunisha Sharma allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself on December 24, 2022, on the sets of a TV serial near Valiv in Palghar. Khan (28) was arrested the next day on a complaint lodged by Sharma's mother.

Additional sessions court judge RD Deshpande ordered that Sheezan Khan be released on a surety of Rs 1 lakh.

Advocate Sharad Rai, appearing for Sheezan Khan, said the applicant had sought bail on various grounds, including that the chargesheet in the

case had already been filed and the probe was over.

Advocate Shailendra Mishra, also representing Khan, said the release was delayed as the formalities at Vasai court took a little longer.

"The deadline to put the release papers in the bail box at Thane jail was 5:30 pm. We have got the release papers and he will be out tomorrow," he said.

The court also ordered the actor to surrender his passport and asked him not to leave the country without prior permission of the court.

Sharma and Khan, who were in a relationship but later parted ways, were co-stars in TV serial 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul'. The Valiv police filed a 500-page chargesheet in court on February 16.
